The significance of the International Station “Snowflake” both for YNAO and for Russia is determined by the breakthrough scientific solutions used at the station. “Green” energy, environmentally friendly technologies at all stages of the implementation and operation of the project make it possible to withstand modern international standards for sustainable Arctic development.
“On behalf of the President, work continues on the development of the Arctic. The International Arctic Station “Snowflake” is a big part of this work. It allows conducting scientific research in the harsh climatic conditions of permafrost based on renewable energy sources of wind and sun, hydrogen energy. The work of “Snowflake” is carried out jointly with scientific communities and industrial partners, who then implement the results of research activities into production. This is also a part of cooperation, which is another step towards achieving the country's technological sovereignty,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, at a meeting with YNAO Governor Dmitry Artyukhov.
